Thanks, Paul. What gets me is how long it took. It started as a prose description in a message to the sadist. I then decided that the developing image was too good to toss away, so set it aside for a poem. Thought of making a choka, and then realized it was just begging to be a haiku, what with the seasonal reference and all.
A haiku is a very appropriate form to subject oneself to when one is by nature rather undisciplined. The precision, the very confined limited of length and syllables and the turnaround. I would try and it didn't say quite what I wanted. even now, I'm tempted to try some more on the same theme.
But when it turns up on the page, what do you see? Eleven words that could have been tossed off in a minute.
