Gay marriage just passed in New York,
the state where I was born.

Well, I didn't actually have the picture ready, but it was easy to find one. And I was following the progress and heard the speeches and...

Damn, this is amazing.

It's personally meaningful, because I am bi and have many gay friends through my LGBT synagogue. But it's more than that.

First and foremost, it's just plain the right thing to do.

But also, being how we are, living the kinds of lives that we do, it is very important any time different ways of living and different ways of loving are validated.

Plus New York is my home state, and this moves me in a very special way.

PS - thank you, Canada, for all the ways you are more civilized than we are. I have a number of friends who went up north to get married.
